Link REIT appoints former BlackRock Asia Pacific real estate head John Saunders group CIO
He has over three decades of knowledge in the real estate market with a strong financial investment record, most recently at BlackRock where he additionally worked as international head of the property customer business.
Units in Link REIT closed up unchanged at HK$ 42.55 ($7.25) on the HKEX on Dec 20.
Saunders, who is going to take over the position from March 4 next year, will be accountable for Link’s total financial investment methods, profile monitoring and the calculated project of Link’s financial investment company. He will report to George Hongchoy, Link’s chief executive officer.
Prior to that, he operated at Hongkong Land from 1994 to 1998 wherein he was engaged with the development and leasing of numerous landmark assignments in Singapore and other Asian countries.
Hong-Kong detailed Link REIT has recently introduced the appointment of BlackRock’s former Asia Pacific real estate executive John Saunders as group chief investment officer (CIO) in the newly created duty.
“We are pleased to welcome John, who takes with him a wide range of expertise and sector proficiency, to the Link family group. The appointment will improve the range and ability of our managing team and will certainly enhance our capacity as we look for new development channels and sustainable returns for unitholders following the Link 3.0 method,” says Hongchoy.
He signed up with BlackRock via its merger with MGPA in 2013 the minute he was the firm’s CEO of Asia and the account executive of their Asian Property Funds collection. Before taking part in MGPA, he worked for CLSA between 1999 and 2007, operating their regional property research study initiative and was instrumental in commencing their Asian Property Fund wherein he served as a financial investment board associate.
