Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar

The site was granted to Bethesda Medical, which sent a monthly rental proposal of $103,000, the third-highest quote cost after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).

Wong states Habyt Kada at Maxwell speaks for the company’s dedication to redefining flexible living in Singapore and notes its shift towards the next phase of growth for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room rates at Kada at Maxwell will start at $180 per day.

SLA cited Bethesda’s strong focus on area building and connecting people with businesses as what gave its concept the succeeding edge. The first level will feature 10 F&B offerings, whilst the second ground will house a gym by Limitless, a wellness center in collaboration with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working space. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell gets on the third floor.

Locals of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy endless and complimentary access to the property’s health and well-being amenities, like the performance gym, cold plunge, infrared saunas, jacuzzis and foot bathrooms.

“By mixing modern benefits with the ageless charm of a heritage building, we’re offering guests an unique lifestyle experience that goes beyond typical holiday accommodation,” adds Wong.

The versatile space lies within a preserved 1920s colonial building. The three-storey building, designed by the architectural business Swan & Maclaren, was one of the earliest modernist buildings in Singapore. It was developed to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.

Habyt has launched a new accomodation spot at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the flagship spot for the operator’s Habyt Flex approach, that represents a strategic broadening of the business’s product offerings past long-term co-living.

A public tender to rent the property, now managed by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was released in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based on the bid price and the quality of the proposed concept, and SLA urged bidders to think about inspired way of life principles.

In August, Habyt Asia Pacific CEO Jonathan Wong signalled that the company was trying to include even more short-term living alternatives to its local lineup. The first real estates under the Habyt Flex idea are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both released in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept involve Habyt Cantonment and Owen Residence by Habyt.

Kada at Maxwell are going to offer a series of spaces, involving en suite studios and 2- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a completely set up kitchenette. Guests can book spaces on a nightly or every week basis, with a 12-month option even offered.
